Long Time No Update

It's been months, I know.

I don't have much new art to share, but I do have some; I'll get around to scanning it all and updating here within the next week, in between all the other frivolous things I need to do.

I'll also update Spilled Tea with real-life things some day this week when it's not 12:34am.

IT'S. STUCK. IN. MY. HEAD.

IT HAS BEEN FOR OVER A WEEK.

Inspiration

I read a line in a Cracked.com article referring to the Antikythera Mechanism as "part of a time machine that exploded on arrival" and I, remembering Hero's Engine, was struck by the idea of a Hellenistic Steampunk. The image of this girl formed in my mind, and I grabbed a ball-point pen and some scratch paper to doodle her. It, as sometimes happens, turned out better than expected, so I scanned and digitally gave it some flat colors. I quite like her, and her steam-powered cart (of which I will try to draw some more soon, so everyone can see the design of its engine).

Elf Doodle and D&D Character Art

A sketch done to test a pen. It turned out surprisingly well, so I tested some Prismacolor pencils on it as well.

Distraction

You know... I started a Google search about 8 hours ago for pictures of tea to use as a background in place of the lemons you see now... but never accomplished my goal. I now have a few-thousand new images saved to my computer, consisting of: tea and coffee, tea sets, tea party favors, tea party snack foods, Alice in Wonderland, AiW tea party favors/drinks/tea sets/snack foods, AiW plus size costumes, Japanese Victorian and Lolita clothing of various styles to use as reference for drawing neo-Victorian clothes, Ariel (Little Mermaid), Misc Disney heroines, shockingly (because I normally don't go for guys) sexy fanart of Disney men in various states of undress to bare uncharacteristically toned/chiseled/WOW bodies........, Disney and storybook ladies drawn slutily in American-comic-book style, and god knows whatever other random things I stumbled across between all that and saved.

I think... I'm too easily distracted. But oh my god was it worth it!
Here, look at nearly-naked Disney men below the jump:

Wth, YouTube? (Image Heavy)

So, after seeing this: http://zatanna.tumblr.com/post/1289894668 I decided to go see what else YouTube misunderstood.

Coincidentally, I was listening to Hellfire when I saw that, so I used that video.

The images below the cut show the entirety of what YouTube thinks are the lyrics to the song.

09 October 2010

I’m about 40 minutes short of having gone 36 hours without sleep. Why do I do this?

I guess, this time, it was setting up/posting in new blogs, scanning/editing/coloring art, and generally wasting time online for the first time in weeks xD

And then Nydia came online, and I stayed here the rest of the day watching anime, tumbling, and msning with her.

Haaah, but tomorrow, I draw! I really wanna try that 10 doodles in 10 minutes thing! And do a couple doodle meme’s I stumbled across. :D

Bed time!

Miscellaneous Fact
I once had insomnia for a week in high school. I could only half-doze for a few minutes at a time (in health class xD) while still being fully conscious. I was up for 96 hours before I could sleep that weekend. O__O I don’t remember much of that week.

My First Fanart in Years

I've been watching anime all day, and squeezed in a few episodes of an anime that never ceases to amuse me: Chromartie High School. I wound up giving in to an urge to draw, and since they repeatedly flashed Shinjiro with the same expression on the screen, I did fanart of him. He's always been my favorite because of that wiggling purple... mohawk... thing. It's nowhere near a finished piece, but here's the rough sketch:

Art I've done in the past week, that I should have posted last night:

(Copy-pasta from LJ)

Once upon a time, there was a character named Archer (who was an existing character in disguise for a portion of the story).
My co-creator at the time thought it best not to include her in our plot, so I repurposed her and sent her off to become Tom in K.o.a.D., where she was made into a boy to prevent similarities to one of my co-creator's characters.

Now that I'm on my own, and have a rewrite of the original story (tentatively titled "Owl Coffee")underway, Archer is allowed back to her ancestral universe.
(I just need to work out a change of Tom's last name, or deal with having two red-heads named Archer)
And she's gained a main role! So I've been thinking about her, and wound up doing two drawings involving her.
